With a career that spans continents and cultures, Dr. Michael Issa brings a global perspective and a heartfelt commitment to excellence in dentistry. His journey began in 2008 when he earned his dental degree from Damascus University, followed by advanced postgraduate training in prosthodontics and dental implantology in Paris, France.
Dr. Issa then spent several years practicing in a high-end dental clinic in Dubai’s International City, where he provided comprehensive care to a diverse, multicultural patient base. It was there that he honed his skills in cosmetic dentistry and dental implants—fields that continue to inspire his passion for transforming smiles.
Upon relocating to the United States, Dr. Issa pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the prestigious University of Southern California (USC) School of Dentistry, graduating with honors. He went on to serve as an associate dentist in bustling practices across Milford and Ashland, Massachusetts, where he became known for his compassionate chairside manner and dedication to helping patients feel confident and cared for.
A lifelong learner, Dr. Issa completed advanced implant training through the renowned TCP Implant Marathon, placing over 60 implants during a humanitarian mission in São Paulo, Brazil. This experience not only deepened his clinical expertise but also reinforced his belief in the power of dentistry to change lives.
Today, as the proud owner of Smile Santa Maria Dental, Dr. Issa is devoted to bringing the highest standards of care to the Central Coast community. He believes every patient deserves a healthy, beautiful smile—and he strives to deliver that through meticulous work, gentle hands, and genuine connection.
Outside the office, Dr. Issa enjoys traveling with his wife and their two-year-old son, Giovanni. He’s also an avid soccer player and an enthusiastic member of the Santa Maria community.
