Dr. Sean J. Nolan
Dr. Sean J. Nolan was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. During his youth he spent many summers working with his dad, Dr. Daniel G Nolan, in his dental office and lab. He moved south and attended the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), for his undergraduate studies where he was an honors graduate in Biochemistry and Cellular Biology. It was during this time that Dr. Nolan decided to pursue a career in dentistry. He investigated lots of different careers, but his love of health and medicine, coupled with his boyhood experiences and love for patient interaction led him to dentistry.
He attended the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) for dental school. During his 4 years in dental school he was president of his class and participated in many educational and clinical groups to apply towards his goal of being a general practitioner. He graduated with honors and has been the recipient of a number of awards and honors for his academic and leadership abilities. After dental school he has continued his pursuit of knowledge and skills and has spent considerable time learning to do complete orthodontics, implant placement and restoration, as well as cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
After practicing in Lincoln with his father for several years he decided to look for a place to call home. Growing up in Bakersfield he’d always enjoyed the central coast so after looking around a bit, he decided Santa Maria was the place for him. He likes the sense of community and family nature of the area. Dr. Nolan enjoys reaching out and participating in community activities, spending time with family and friends, music, cooking, and being active outdoors.
Dr. Daniel G. Nolan
Dr. Daniel G. Nolan was born in Bakersfield, California. He attended Brigham Young University (BYU), and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He enjoyed his studies as he continued his education at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), where he attended dental school. After graduation he was anxious to start his own practice and bought a small practice in Yucca Valley, Ca. He met his lovely wife there and they now have four children and eight grandchildren. In 1985 they moved to Bakersfield, where they lived for 25 years, after which they relocated to Lincoln, California. A consummate learner and dedicated to improving his skills over the course of his career, he has furthered his knowledge of dentistry in diagnosis and treatment planning, implant placement and restoration, crowns, bridges, dentures, clear aligners, and cosmetic dentistry.
He was twice voted Best Dentist in Bakersfield by the Bakersfield Californian readers’ poll, and once voted Outstanding Dentist. Honored and humbled, he is grateful for the awards but has the utmost respect for his peers. Over the course of his career, Dr. Nolan has always been sensitive to the costs of dental care and has always made an effort to keep his fees reasonable so people can get the care they need.
Dr. Nolan enjoys participating in community activities, mentoring younger dentists, cycling, landscaping and gardening, his grandkids, and serving in his church.
